I have had 3 book signing events during June. I have learned to thoroughly enjoy the time talking to new people. I have had some amazing conversations about some very personal things that are shared in response to my question: Would you be interested in a book about weaving prayer into the tapestry of your life? The first event, however, was at the Rolling Hills United Methodist Church in California, where I served as pastor for ten years . I autographed and hugged and talked with people I had known and loved for a long time, We had prayed together many times, and had a deep acquaintance that made talking easy. 62 people bought books that morning. The following Tuesday, I was back in North Carolina and signing books at the bookstore at Lake Junaluska, NC for some old friends and some new people at the Holston Conference meeting. Again, I signed 23 books for their new owners. Then today, I was back at Lake Junaluska to sign 13 more books for members of the Western North Carollna Conference. All of this sharing about the books with interested people has made me feel keenly the need to keep the book alive, The first anniversary of its publication is this next week. June 26, 2013. I am ready to use this blog to keep the project growing. I have so much new material that I want to share. I have prayers for all of the prayer prompts that did not get to go to press in 2013. I have some wonderful sharing and insights from the blog of my pastor, Guy Sayles as he confronts the recent news that he as Multiple Myeloma, a terminal cancer. He has given permission for me to quote him in my blog. So, I am committing to writing something on Thursday of every week to keep the book alive and growing. The weaving of prayer into the tapestry of life will continue to be shared here with current events addressed. Please pass the word to anyone who has found the book useful, and who might enjoy seeing where things go from here. I will appreciate your feedback and response to what happens next.
